You may have heard that our village church has been a victim of metal theft. This has caused considerable damage to parts of the church roof. A temporary cover has been erected to minimise rain damage. We are awaiting advice from architects, roofing experts and our insurers before deciding on repairs. This will result in considerable unrecoverable costs.
Our beautiful and historic church is Grade One listed. The Church Tower is 800 years old, the chancel and nave have been in place for 700 years.
The church is open to all. As well as regular worship and other services, it is a quiet space for anyone to enter and enjoy the peace. There are toilet facilities for all, including the less abled. The Church is used for many community events such as Balsham Singers’ concerts and a regular Christmas tree Festival. Local children enjoy using the church for activities including school carol services by both the Meadow School and Linton Village College.
We want to ensure our Church’s future is protected for generations to come.
All donations to the church at this time would be hugely appreciated. You can do so by putting a donation in the collection box in the Post Office or the metal box inside the church door. If you are a tax-payer there are yellow gift aid envelopes in the church. On line you can donate to:
